Sheri Rosen's professional biography

Sheri Rosen brings her widely recognized communication knowledge and skill to your business as a communication management consultant. She is a conceptual and imaginative thinker who systematically and skillfully implements the best ideas.

She is proving her skills in managing employee communication for Frost Bank, the largest Texas bank with headquarters in San Antonio. It is an opportunity to do what she particularly enjoys: building communication infrastructures and conceiving new programs. Her current projects include a complete intranet redesign and content revision and an internal identity program that is rebranding all formal print and e-mail communication to employees.

Her well-rounded corporate communication and business management skills were previously demonstrated as the corporate officer in charge of employee communications at USAA, a top-rated Fortune 500 financial services company. There, she administered planning, budget, project management and personnel responsibilities for the HR communication, employee media, and issues management departments. Under her direction, the team wrote and produced newsletters, video news, intranet and online news, manager and CEO communication support, and comprehensive employee research and feedback. Always, the goal was to achieve the business objectives, balancing management requirements and interests of the employee community. She engineered internal communication for departing and surviving employees in USAA's first-ever layoffs, developed the company's intranet that attracted 90 percent of employees to click through for company news, and implemented the crisis communication plan put to the test Sept. 11, 2001, and the months following.

Sheri also possesses publishing expertise, including writing and editing for various media and audiences, and even has graphic design experience. She gives attention to detail in grammar, style and logic. One notable success was her turnaround of a money-losing city business magazine that she built into a profitable, national-award-winning publication. She instituted readership surveys, better targeted articles to the identified audience, introduced newsstand sales and revamped the marketing. Circulation doubled.

As an independent consultant, she has consistently focused on solid research and reader involvement, introducing and improving publications for law school alumni, a hospital community, corporation employees, and non-profit association members. In all cases, the content was created to address the sponsor's goals and to influence the actions and attitudes of the readers. She also founded and published First Draft news service for corporate publication editors, then brokered the sale of this successful business, which is still operating.

Sheri is a top-rated seminar speaker and trainer for the International Quality and Productivity Center, Ragan Communications, International Association of Business Communicators, and Best Practices in Corporate Communications. She has earned the Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) professional designation.
